Polish your pauldrons. Shine your leathers. Grab onto your gold-hilt sabers.

The best-dressed bad guys on the battlefield are taking over Assembly Required 2024. This year's event celebrates the man in the mask who brings aristocracy to the arms race — James McCullen Destro and his Iron Grenadiers.

Panel discussions, multiple vendors, customs classes, contests, prize giveaways, and special guests await you — including the man behind much of the G.I. Joe mythology and our Guest of Honor, Larry Hama.

The Destro clan always has a plan. Make yours and prepare to join us November 8 & 9 in Des Moines, Iowa.

FRIDAY: $15 Early Access, 4p - 7p

Codename: Iowa’s origins started as an idea in a coffee shop. It’s developed into a group that hosts multiple must-attend annual events for the G.I. Joe collecting community every year — including the A.R.M.O.R. online event and our signature convention, Assembly Required.

Our mission is to cultivate an appreciation for G.I. Joe in Iowa and world-wide for the purpose of building community, preserving the brand and investing in the next generation of fans.

Assembly Required: Started in 2011 as a handful of local collectors getting together, this annual event has grown into a free gathering of fans from across the country — featuring panel discussion, custom classes and contests, guest appearances, vendors and plenty of camaraderie.

Operation: A.R.M.O.R.: Originally launched in 2020 as an online alternative to Assembly Required in the wake of a world-wide pandemic, A.R.M.O.R. proved popular enough to become its own annual event — creating an opportuning for fans world-wide to gather online for lively panel discussions focusing on deep dives into the brand.
